U.S. Poverty Campaigns
Incorporating grassroots input, RESULTS U.S.-poverty focused groups and activists are focused on these primary campaigns:
Creating Economic Opportunity and Breaking the Cycle of Poverty through Asset-Building Policies
RESULTS volunteeers support access to Earned Income Tax Credit, the Child Tax Credit while we build momentum for innovative Asset Building strategiesincluding the Saver's Bonus.
Early Childhood Development: Smart Investments in the Early Years
RESULTS invests in America's future by pushing for more resources for Head Start, Early Head Start, and Child Care.
Empowering Grassroots Activists: Grassroots Health and Expansion
RESULTS focuses on building the health of our existing grassroots network and starting new RESULTS groups. Through our Diversity Task Force, our work on campuses, and Faith in Action project, we are working to bring new and important voices to this work.
Health Care for All (not a major campaign)
RESULTS worked to strengthen Medicaid to cover all lower-income Americans and expand access to quality care through Community Health Centers. Both are now part of the new health reform law. To build on this success, RESULTS still supports a National Health Program as the long-term goal of U.S. health care. In addition, we advocate for investments in nutrition programs. If there are serious threats to these safety net programs and in particular, we will engage in actions in 2012 to protect programs for millions of Americans living in poverty.
